GNU Privacy Guard 2.2.25
Posted Nov 24, 2020
Site gnupg.org

GnuPG (the GNU Privacy Guard or GPG) is GNU's tool for secure communication and data storage. It can be used to encrypt data and to create digital signatures. It includes an advanced key management facility and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet standard as described in RFC2440. As such, it is meant to be compatible with PGP from NAI, Inc. Because it does not use any patented algorithms, it can be used without any restrictions.

Changes: Updates to the Polish translation and to gpgconf.

Stegano 0.9.8
Posted Dec 20, 2019
Authored by Cedric Bonhomme | Site github.com

Stegano is a basic Python Steganography module. Stegano implements two methods of hiding: using the red portion of a pixel to hide ASCII messages, and using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique. It is possible to use a more advanced LSB method based on integers sets. The sets (Sieve of Eratosthenes, Fermat, Carmichael numbers, etc.) are used to select the pixels used to hide the information.

Changes: Stegano is now using poetry. Minor improvements to the command line.

cryptmount Filesystem Manager 5.3.2
Posted Nov 18, 2019
Authored by RW Penney | Site cryptmount.sourceforge.net

cryptmount is a utility for creating and managing secure filing systems on GNU/Linux systems. After initial setup, it allows any user to mount or unmount filesystems on demand, solely by providing the decryption password, with any system devices needed to access the filing system being configured automatically. A wide variety of encryption schemes (provided by the kernel dm-crypt system and the libgcrypt library) can be used to protect both the filesystem and the access key. The protected filing systems can reside in either ordinary files or disk partitions. The package also supports encrypted swap partitions, and automatic configuration on system boot-up.

Changes: Refined handling of passwords in mudslinger testing script.

SSLsplit 0.5.5
Posted Aug 30, 2019
Site roe.ch

SSLsplit is a tool for man-in-the-middle attacks against SSL/TLS encrypted network connections. Connections are transparently intercepted through a network address translation engine and redirected to SSLsplit. SSLsplit terminates SSL/TLS and initiates a new SSL/TLS connection to the original destination address, while logging all data transmitted. SSLsplit is intended to be useful for network forensics and penetration testing.

Changes: Added -A option for specifying a default leaf certificate instead of generating it on the fly. Increased the default RSA leaf key size to 2048 bits and force an OpenSSL security level of 0 in order to maximize interoperability in the default configuration. Various other bug fixes and updates.

Posted Aug 26, 2019
Authored by Ivo Timmermans | Site tinc.nl.linux.org

tinc is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) daemon that uses tunneling and encryption to create a secure private network between multiple hosts on the Internet. This tunneling allows VPN sites to share information with each other over the Internet without exposing any information.

Changes: Fixed compiling tinc with certain versions of the OpenSSL library. Fixed parsing some IPv6 addresses with :: in them. Fixed GraphDumpFile output to handle node names starting with a digit. Fixed a potential segmentation fault when fragmenting packets.
